Scoring tool (for scoring & cutting plastic mirror) (TS0110) This is a tool that allows plastic mirror to be 'scored' and then 'snapped' in a straight line.This is an alternative method to cutting using power scissors where students may not have sufficient hand strength and co-ordination to produce straight reliable cuts.Procedure for producing straight cuts on plastic mirror materials.Determine where the straight cut is to be made and draw a line.Place a safety ruler over the line and hold firmly.Use the hardened tip of the scoring tool to scratch or 'score' a line along the mirror surface.Students will need to repeat this process two or three times until a small 'V' shaped scratch is created.The plastic may be 'snapped' into two pieces using ones hands or bent and snapped over the edge of a bench or table top.
