Specifications: 10-strand wire each 0.12 mm thick; insulation material PVC; rated 1 A.; supplied in 1 m lengths in 5 different colours. Total length 10 metres.
The coating of insulation around hook-up wire is best removed using automatic wire strippers. These tools allow the length of insulation to be removed to be preset and there is little chance of wires being removed during this operation.
When using various coloured wires in a circuit the arrangement of wires can become untidy. A neat way to tidy wires is to twist them together using a hand drill.Secure the ends of wires to be routed together in a vice. Attach the other ends of the wires to the chuck of a hand drill. Pull the wires taut while turning the hand drill, slowly.
Twist the wires together until they are in a neat pack. Remember that such twisting shortens the overall length of the wires.
