Propeller driven vehicle kit Kit/10 (TS0006) Propeller powered vehicle kit. (Set of 10 Kits)
Lower secondary or senior primary. This kit of materials facilitates an introduction to; Elementary designing, critiquing, testing and redesign. Measurement and calculation. Recognition of the need for accuracy Understanding potential and kinetic energy Making: using elementary hand tools , organising assembly and developing manual dexterity. Reflection and reconsideration of design improvement. Dice set of 30 pieces (TS0012) Six sided rainbow spot dice in a set of 30 coloured plastic dice. Rubber band powered vehicle each (TS0122) Rubber Band powered Vehicle Kit (single) An engineering, hands on, activity kit. Flying Umbrella (LED helicopter toy) Pk/10 TS0228 The LED Flying Umbrella/ helicopter is a toy. However implicit in its design and operation are several educational aspects; · The stretchy rubber band used to propel the toy upward demonstrates the concept of potential energy · The flashing LED lights characterise the application of simple electronic circuitry. · The nature of the folded blades, emulates the spinning action of seeds as they descend to earth. How to operate the toy. (The toy has a coloured plastic body, Red and Blue flashing LED, rubber band and a battery.) Fold the blades into a spiral shape. Hold the tail of the toy with one hand whilst stretching the rubber band tightly with the other hand. Only direct the toy upward away from any bystanders. Release the toy and it will be propelled upward by approximately 20 metres. After reaching its highest point the toy will spin slowly down to earth whilst flashing with red and blue light. Best observed at night when the LED light are most effective. Use only in open areas away from roofs and trees. Live wire Nitinol wire (TS0307) NITINOL is an alloy of Nickel and Titanium with a remarkable 'shape-memory.' If bent while cold (ice water) it will remain bent until heated (hot water). It will then forcibly resume its original shape. Space wings bio-metal electronic kit. (TS0339) An electronics kit which demonstrates the capabilities of Nitinol memory alloy to shorten in length when electrically activated. Muscle wires: book and sample wires kit. (TS0354) This book contains Nitinol to build projects described in the book. This publication is suitable for upper secondary and tertiary students. Flexinol muscle wire: mixed samples: all 1 m long. (TS0627) Nitinol memory alloy wires shorten in length when electrically activated. Three diameters of wire in this kit. Wind Bag: set of 4 bags (TS0966) Plastic 'windbags' are ideal for testing and demonstrating Bernoulli's principle. Balls: ''Happy & unhappy' balls. Large. (TS0968) A pair of black balls; bounce and no-bounce characteristics.
